About Us

Our Story

In 1946, a few folks started gathering together to worship God underneath a tree. This was the beginning of what is now Faith Baptist Church. The hope then was to see the community reached with the gospel. This hope has not wavered even through changes in leadership, ebbs and flows in membership, and vast amounts of growth to our area. We long to see a movement of God transform our community still today!

Our Vision

We desire to see the community within a 10 minute drive of Faith Baptist Church be transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Helping broken people become whole in Christ.

Our Values

God-centered Passion – God is in the center of all that we do. We desire to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Sacrificial Community – Our fellowship is based upon loving others as ourselves. This means we consider the interests of others before our own. Christ came to serve, not to be served. We want to make every effort to have that same attitude.

Compassionate Acceptance – When we were lost and without hope, Christ expressed His love and compassion for us by dying in our place and receiving those who believe in Him into His kingdom. We want to  have this kind of compassion on all people, understanding that while God does not keep us where we are, He receives us, in Christ, just as we are.

Biblical Faithfulness – We believe the Bible is the Word of God. As such, it has ultimate authority in our lives. This means that we do not amend the Bible to fit our current cultural moment. Rather, we look to the unchanging Word of God for principles and guidance for how to live faithfully in the times in which we find ourselves. At Faith, we desire to be faithful to God in every way through right interpretation and appropriate application of the text of Scripture.

Our Leadership

Andrew Ivester became the Pastor at Faith Baptist in November 2016. He is passionate about helping the church obey all that Jesus commanded (Matt. 28:18-20) by devoting himself to the ministry of the word and prayer (Acts 6:4), and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:11-13).

Andrew also serves with the Baptist State Convention of NC on the Board of Directors, and has spent time serving NC Baptists as the Multi-Housing Catalyst for the Triangle as well as a catalyst for Region 4 on the DiscipleNC Team. He has a BBA in Accounting from North Georgia College & State University and a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Marissa, were high school sweethearts and have been married since 2011. In 2021, they were blessed with a lovely little girl, Lilly. They are from Toccoa, GA, and they moved to the Triangle Metro Area in 2013. They proudly call North Carolina home and are thrilled to be serving God from Durham to the ends of the earth!
